On the Northwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Shea, I found this guy soliciting prayer requests.
As I sat at the light and watched our Good Samaritan, I noticed that in a 6 minute span, no one had talked to him, approached him or otherwise gave him a prayer request. Was it that no one had a prayer or was his marketing so weak no one was compelled into action?
It also had me thinking, are things so bad that God doesn’t have enough prayers to answer; has he encouraged his flock to take to the streets and ask for new prayers?
Plus, my marketing mind never rests; the very nature of the word “request” is weak and thus, may have impacted his rate of return on his efforts. If the sign said “Prayers Answered” I might have made effort to stop and chat a bit – at least I knew a good conversation would be coming.
And maybe I could have coached him on how to market his service better. I would have recommended a different location, stronger call to action and maybe a guarantee . . . . or a way to follow him via social media so you know how to find him when you need someone on bended knee for your daily challenges.
